Marcia Murry Bio: Marcia
was able to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time artist
after her retirement as a Manager from Bell South in 1991.
She paints exclusively in watercolor and her paintings are
driven equally by curiosity and the desire to create.. She
enjoys painting flowers, still life’s and landscapes and
occasionally includes animals and people in her paintings.
Marcia is a member of several art. organizations and is active
in her community. She has participated in many shows throughout
South Carolina and received numerous awards and recognitions.
She received an award from the South Carolina Watermedia Society
in 2006 and 2007 and was included in the Traveling Exhibit. She
received second place in the Union County Show in
2007 and has received various awards and recognition in Belton
Center for the Arts, SC State Fair and Crooked Creek art
League’s annual show.
Her paintings are in private and corporate collections in Australia
and in the eastern United States from the Hamptons to
Jacksonville Florida.
Marcia wants her paintings to portray the subject as well as
capture special feelings and moments. “Even though watercolor
requires that I plan my paintings carefully, I paint
intuitively”. She believes that continuing to study,
learning new techniques and sharing and exchanging ideas with
fellow artists keeps her paintings fresh and diverse.
