SCWS …. W is for Watermedia

The SC Watercolor Society made a slight name change from using the word watercolor to watermedia, which accurately reflects the organization and its artists. For more than 20 years, SCWS has accepted acrylics into the annual exhibition and most recently, we have dropped the surface requirement (paper) yet many still do not connect us with anything but watercolor. Yes, we are watercolor and we embrace that rich history … but we also represent artists who paint in acrylic and any other water based medium as well as mixed media that incorporates watermedia. Thus… we are the SC Watermedia Society.
