The Hay barn. Downtown McConnels

McConnels - Named for the McConnels family in the mid 1800's. The post office was established in 1854 as McConnelsville. The name was shortened to McConnels just a few decades ago. The oldest house, known as the Love Plantation, sits across 321 from the hay barn. The population is 416. In addition to the post office, McConnels sports two gas stations and a fire station. take a right on highway 322 and head toward Bullocks Creek. Turn right at the second stop sign. This should be highway 49. |
