Junction. The Three C's Railroad built a modern train depot here in 1890. the newspapers'
glowing reports of that time reflected a growing, bustling community. Catawba is now has
only a small collection of homes the railroad tract a pool hall and a post office. We
choose the railroad to represent this area. Railroad speculation had a lot to do with the
development of this area. Many of the once thriving rail towns have slowly declined since
the 50's, when car travel and the development of Interstates took commerce to different
areas of the County.
