York: Approximately 20 minutes from Rock
Hill. York was established as the County Seat in 1785. It was originally called Fergus
Crossroads, as two stagecoach routes intersected here. York's golden era was in the
1850's, with many referring to it as the "Charleston of the Up Country". A
detailed tour of historic York may be obtained from the York Chamber of Commerce.
