

Tirza
Incorporated in 1886. Just a store, one house and the Three Cs Railroad, (Charleston, Cincinnati, & Chicago RR) existed on this site. Tirza became the stump for politicians throughout the upstate. This activity earned Tirza a notorious reputation for drunken brawls. In one such altercation, two men were shot, as well as a mule. One man and the mule died. *1908 newspaper report
